DIBBIOPACK: a new range of smart and multifunctional packages This 4-year project is going to develop packaging that will be used in the near future by food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. In particular, it will develop multifunctional packages in a wide range of processes (injection & blow extrusion) which improve the structural and barrier properties, introduce smart features and increase sustainability using nanotechnology. DIBBIOPACK is a European project involving 19 partners (SMEs, research centres and industries) from 11 countries. It is led by AITIIP, a technology centre in Saragossa (Spain). Started 1st March 2012, it is supported by the European Commission through the Seventh Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development with up to 5.7 Mio €, out of a total budget of 7.7 Mio €.
